How our service works

Group Health Insurance Broker is not a broker, an agency or an insurer. We are a small, free service that helps US employers find a licensed group benefits broker who works with businesses of their size and in their state, and this page explains exactly how.

  1. Fill in the form

Your ZIP code, how many people you employ, what cover you have now, your renewal date and the best way to reach you. No health information about anyone.

  2. We look for a licensed benefits broker

We find one licensed in your state who works with employers of your size and the kind of plan you described.

  3. We name them to you

Normally within one business day, with their state license number so you can check it. Your enquiry stays with us until you confirm you want that broker to have it.

  4. The broker takes it from there

They ask about your team and current plan, go to market with the carriers they appoint with, and explain the options. Choosing a plan, and whether to appoint them, is up to you.

Who we are not

We are not an insurance agency, broker, insurer, PEO or government marketplace, and we hold no insurance license. Any business with a similar name is unrelated to us.

Things we do not do

  • Charge employers anything, at any stage.
  • Send your enquiry to a broker before you have said yes to them, or to a second broker at the same time.
  • Discuss premiums or rates for your business, compare or recommend carriers or plans, or give insurance, tax or legal advice. Only a licensed broker or the insurer can do that.
  • Ask for health information about you or your employees.
  • Put your email address on a newsletter or sales list.

Who pays us

The broker pays us a flat fee for each introduction. It is the same whether or not you buy anything, and it is never a share of a premium or commission. You pay nothing to us.

About our figures and guides

The figures on this site are national survey averages and published federal rules, each with its source and date beside it: mainly the KFF Employer Health Benefits Survey, healthcare.gov and the IRS. They help you see where you stand; they are not a quote or a rate for your business. We never discuss premiums for a particular employer, compare or recommend carriers or plans, or give insurance, tax or legal advice. Only a licensed broker or the insurer can do that.

Ask for a licensed broker

Three short steps: where the business is, what you have now, and who to speak to. It takes about two minutes and asks nothing about anyone's health.

  • Free for employers. The broker pays us a flat fee per introduction.
  • One broker, named to you first, with their state license number.
  • No advice from us. Plans, rates and tax questions go to the licensed broker.

We are a free matching service, not a broker or insurer, and we do not quote or recommend plans. We look for a licensed benefits broker who suits your business and tell you who it is; your enquiry goes to them only with your go-ahead.
